I’m a newbie too micro needling. I’ve always used a derma roller, But derma rollers can be quite abrasive. My first impression after opening the box was that I felt very intimidated. This was such a professional looking piece of equipment, and I am no professional. After reading the instructions I still didn’t feel confident so I watched a few YouTube videos. YouTube gave me a better understanding on this specific tool. After about three tries I feel comfortable and confident. It works best if used with a light moisturizer. And some sort of cooling agent afterwards like an ice globe or cold massager. Just like anything in this world it took some getting used to, around my 3rd or 4th try I felt a lot more comfortable and confident using it. It has a wide range of depth. I now use it without any thought like second nature. My skin feels a lot more smoother and seems to hold moisture better. Overall I am very happy with this pen and I no longer use my derma roller. After some more research I plan on using to combat hair loss.

This is actually the second micro-needling pen that I've purchased on Amazon and I am really happy with this one. I took it into the woman who does my micro-needling and she was very impressed.. She said the quality is right there with the one that she uses.

What i like about this device versus the other I received, is this one has extra cartridges readily available here on Amazon. I don't know if the needle cartridges are one size fits all devices, but I didn't want to take the chance. The one thing I do know is that it is VERY important to use a fresh needle cartridge each time you have a micro-needling session. My technician knows a woman who tried to sterilize her needles and use them a few times to save a couple of bucks. Long story, but she ended up getting MERSA, and nearly died. So, you definitely want to be able to get replacement cartridges!

I love this device. I have a significant scar in the middle of my chest from having a cyst removed. I microneeedle once a month and I am definitely seeing a pronounced difference. I am very happy

I am new to micro needling and tried using a roller at first. Then a friend said that they only use the pen style at salons. I looked it up and rollers penetrate at various angles, which causes more discomfort and possible skin damage - while a pen is focused and only moves up and down (or perpendicular to the skin), so it is more accurate and less painful.
Since I've converted to the pen, I find that this indeed takes longer to do, but it is more comfortable and delivers better results.

My strongest suggestion is to read the instructions thoroughly prior to your first use, even if this isn't your first microneedling pen.
You have to use it correctly which means prepping your skin, disinfecting the pen & cartridge. I cleanse and then use alcohol wipe on my face and then micro-needle with hyaluronic acid and peptides. I suggest going makeup free for two days following treatment.
The options to speed up or slow down and the led lights are a nice addition for a speedy recovery. The cartridges come sterile and individually wrapped so I use one cartridge and dispose of after.
Ve careful not to overdue it either, overuse can cause adverse effects and collagen loss. The deeper you go the longer your recovery will be. Anything over 1 mm can only be done 1x a month.

Overall Value: Given the quality of the Dr. Pen M8 Microneedling Pen, detailed instructions and effectiveness and very fair pricing considering the cost of treatments at a spa, I consider this a great purchase.

This is my first micro-needling pen and I must admit, I was nervous to use it. I had previously used derma stamps, including one from doctor pen and was ready to take the next step. I did a lot of research and this brand is the one that came up the most and was highly lauded. I watched a lot of YouTube tutorials on using micro-needling to get familiar with it. In the end it wasn't that bad! It's certainly not a pleasant sensation but doesn't hurt too bad. My skin is sensitive and got red of course but calmed down after I put some soothing serum on it. I'm still only using it once a week but will work my way up more when I feel more confident.

I like that this pen is adjustable so the more I get used to it the more deeper penetration I can get without having to buy a new pen or specific cartridges in order to do so. The pen is easy to hold, feels like quality and was easy to use. I do wish it came with more cartridges though this is probably standard. I'd recommend it for beginners like me.

I had my face professionally microneedled a few years ago and had ok results but I couldn't afford to keep going back. I'm 60 now and life, hormones, and gravity are catching up with me. I never needed to do much to my skin until about 5 years ago but now I'm having a few skin issues (Rosecea, Adult Acne) as well as the expected wrinkles and some pores have enlarged in the last few years. So I'm starting to do more to help my skin...better late than never!

I've watched a ton of videos and while I was a little nervous I jumped in and gave it a go. I don't think I did too bad for a first attempt. Certainly doing the .75 depth isn't a walk in the park but I think it will work over time once I figure out what works best for my skin. Tried nano needling at .25 about 5 days later and that went well. Of course it will take 6 months of this to see what is permanent and what may be due to edema so we will see. I'll try to come back and update.

The pen is easy to use. The one-time-use cartridges snap on solidly (I hear some brands have issues with them coming off during use). It's easy to set the depth and speed. One charge should do at least 4 or 5 treatments.

All in all very happy I got this. I may not be able to stop the ravages of life but I can slow them down and have healthier skin at the same time! Since I've started my new regime I've had a lot fewer acne breakouts. That right there is a win!

Dr. Pen is the Gold Standard when it comes to microneedling your skin. A very good and trusted skincare product. As long as you keep it clean and use it as directed, you will be fine. It's safe and well made. You can feel the weightiness in your hand when you pick this up. Both speeds and intensity can be adjusted. Use with your favorite skincare products for a much deeper application. Plus the needling itself will help with circulation and exercise the skin to make it a bit firmer.

This is a great microneedling derma pen. It has a solid build and quality feel to it. It is comfortable to hold and easy to use. The adjustment barrel has a gradual, tactile feel to it, and a stepless depth range from 0 to 2.5 mm. The 6 speed settings are handy for finetuning on different parts of the face.

The derma pen runs smoothly and quietly. It uses a bayonet mount system for the microneedle cartridges. It comes with three 12-pin and three 36-pin cartridges. They are well-made and factory sealed in individual sterile packages. It also comes with a plastic organizer case, USB charging cable and power adapter.

Overall, I'm pleased with this derma pen. It is solidly built and easy to use. It comes with 6 cartridges to get you started. You may want to do some research on the appropriate needle depth for different parts of the face and the types of treatment you desire. A numbing cream may also be helpful. Anyway, this works great for me. High adjustability and precision. Good product.

I have been researching micro-needling for some time and was so excited when this Dr. Pen Ultima M8 Microneedling Pen Professional Kit crossed my path. It was the exact one I wanted! It is a well-known brand and they have some short videos on YT showing how to use it. I have always used a Derma roller on my face, but started to feel that it was too aggressive quite a while back, so I stopped.
This Dr. Pen Ultima M8 kit comes well packaged, with all of the needle cartridges individually wrapped and sanitary. This brand has been around a very long time and there is much to be learned from them. They have a great website, a number to call to speak with someone if you have any questions or concerns.
It comes with a small instruction manual with the basic information and important information on needle depths and speeds for most needs. I found videos helped fill in the gaps, and gave me a feel of what to expect by seeing and hearing others' experiences. Dr Pen has a great YT channel, but  I've learned a lot from watching PENN.SMITH.SKINCARE on YT, as well.
I started with a fairly low setting for my first try, and it went well. To me, it is much easier and less painful than dermarolling. You have much more control, as the machine really does all of the work very quickly. I did not overdo it, just to see how my skin reacts over the next several days. I used a fairly simple hyaluronic acid serum while micro-needling, waited an hour, rinsed my face very well with just water, and reapplied the serum. I did not put anything else on my face for 24 hours. I had some redness and a bit of heat, but nothing like with Derma rolling. It was pretty much gone by the next day.
I really like this micro-needling pen! It's very easy to use, it comes with most everything you need, and it would make a perfect gift for someone seeking their very first one. I would absolutely recommend it!

I watched videos for a couple weeks on how to use this since there weren’t instructions included before I took the leap. I went over my whole face with a needle length of .5 to begin with and at 4 for the speed. I then went back over my problem areas with the needle length at .75 and a speed of 5. I was really into the moment so I went back over one more time with the needle at 1 and the fastest speed of 6. I definitely recommend the fastest speed. My face was red for about 24 hours. Swollen for about 48. After about 3 days I got to see my glorious results. My pores look tighter, my sebaceous hyperplasia isn’t as pronounced. It definitely made my skin look better. I’m sold. I can only imagine how good my skin will look after continuous use.
